Course Objectives:

Broad Objective: To understand the working principle of standard network applications and their implementation on network edge devices

Detailed Objectives:

·         To assess intricacies and develop ‘C/C++’ codes for certain network applications

·         To analyze protocols at different layers of networks with the help of packet capturing tool such as Wireshark.

·         To understand and use network simulation tool NS2 for simulating different networks and analyze their performance.

This is an UG level core course in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. The objectives of this course are:- To understand networking in a top-down manner – that is, by beginning at the application layer and working its way down towards the physical layer with the focus on the Internet, its architecture and protocols,  To understand switching in networks.

This course enables students to appreciate the role of various source and channel coding techniques in.. 1) Estimating complexity of implementation at transmitter and receiver sites. 2) Quality/ Correctness of received information in terms of parameters such as error detection and correction capacity. 3) Deciding various schemes for encoders and decoders deployability either in software or in hardware forms and its consequences. 4) This course/laboratory also helps in improving the analytical and programming skills.

This course is about acquisition, storing, transmission and decoding of audio and video data. The course need knowledge of subjects learned in second and third year level. 

Fundamentals of Computer Programming Div 10 (2017-18)

This course is designed for First Year Engineering students. ECW will help them in getting introduces to various computer peripheral,  Operating System installation, troubleshooting of computers, basics of networking, and a good typing practice. This is 1 credit course (0.5 for computer activity and 0.5 credit for electronics activity). Computer activity will be of 50 Marks (25 Marks on line Test MCQ test on moodle, 20 marks for attendance and 5 marks for typing test.

Engineering communication skills constitute several core elements such as the fluency in the English language with command over the four basic skills viz. listenig, speaking, reading and writing.

Linear algebra is vital in multiple areas of science in general. Because linear equations are so easy to solve, practically every area of modern science contains models where equations are approximated by linear equations and solving for the system helps the theory develop.
